Benefits of the Online Shop
Benefits of using the Online Shop include:
- Payments are sent straight through to your nominated UOB account.
- No chasing of outstanding payments as they are taken at the same time as registration.
- Once set up there is comparatively little administration to be done.
- Existing set ups can be modified and re-activated the following year for annual events.
- The online shop will automatically limit sales to the number available, remove the item when you need your final numbers and limit sales to a certain number per individual if desired.
- If you wish to offer early, mid and late registration rates the Online Shop will automatically cycle through these, taking the last off and activating the next, according to the dates you provide.
- Any information you require from attendees or customers, from presentation abstracts to dietary requirements, can be gathered through using the ‘questionnaire’ facility.
- With instant sale notifications and access to run reports you will easily monitor and retrieve any data you have gathered and retain it for future use e.g. when advertising similar events or products in the future.
- The ‘hidden’ products facility can be used when you want certain items or rates to be available to a select group and not for wider sale.
- Customers will receive an automated receipt via e-mail once they complete check out.
For examples of existing set ups please see the online shop front page.
If you would like to use this facility please fill in the below form and return to Alice.Hargrave@bristol.ac.uk
If you are setting up more than one product or variations of a product e.g. one rate for students and another for staff of academic institutions, then please fill in a form for EACH variation by completing one, saving a new version and modifying the information.
Always consider how you are going to split numbers across products like this. If one option starts to sell quicker than another these can always be adjusted.
It is worth noting when considering what to ask for in your questionnaire that delegates for a conference will often have someone pay on their behalf; the payee information will therefore be different from the delegate’s. This is why it is often wise to specifically ask for the delegates name and e-mail address in the questionnaire.
Once your product is set up you will be given reporting access to draw off information as and when you require it.
