ESRC Festival of Social Science 2014: 1 - 8 November

Thinking Futures

Thinking Futures is a week-long Festival from the 1 - 8 November to share and celebrate research from the University of Bristol's Faculty of Social Sciences and Law. The programme comprises a wide variety of events for the general public, schools, policy-makers and third sector organisations, held in Bristol and beyond.

Engage with our researchers and see how the social sciences inform key debates and advances in policy and practice for governments, education, charities, health services, legal systems, and public services around the globe.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the 2014 Thinking Futures Festival.  This year we are particularly interested in events that include one or more of the following:

  • reach new audiences, or are targeted at specific audiences such as professionals, policy makers and the third sector

  • explore different engagement methods such as performances, workshops, or interactive exhibits

  • involve interdisciplinarity or cross-departmental working

However, ideas should not be limited to these suggestions. We are also keen for researchers at all stages of their careers to get involved.

If you would like to hold an event as part of the festival, please contact Fiona Hyland, Centre for Public Engagement: or tel: 0117 3318324. Deadline is 5pm on 3 July 2014.
