First year Geography student to represent Great Britain
5 October 2017
Isabel Davies, one of our first year geographers, is jetting off to Australia this Christmas to represent Great Britain in the 420 Sailing World Championships.
Following a jam-packed summer where she successfully won a bronze medal at the Junior European Championships in Lake Garda, Italy, she is now busy balancing her sailing training and Geography degree.
‘I am excited and looking forward to the event, my current geographical studies here at Bristol is bringing new dimension to my knowledge of the wind, waves and tides, enabling me to really understand what makes my boat move on the race track.’
The event commences on the 26th of December in Freemantle, Australia where Isabel will be competing against other nations for a World Championship title.
We wish her all the best and lots of luck in her racing!
