Uncertainty in future flood risk for the insurance market

Research summary

I am currently undertaking a NERC-CASE PhD with the University of Bristol and the Willis Research Network, the aim of which is to critically examine the catastrophe modelling methodology commonly adopted by industry with a particular focus on flooding.

Severe flood events regularly cause damage to homes and businesses, the costs of which are largely borne by insurance and reinsurance companies.
