Dr Geoffrey Dawson

Biography

I am currently a post-doctoral researcher, and my work is focused on using satellite altimeters to determine the summer, sea ice thickness and melt rates, as part of PRE-MELT: Preconditioning the trigger for rapid Arctic ice melt project. Previously I worked on the Antarctic Grounding Lines from Cryosat (ANGeLIC) project where I investigated the Antarctic grounding zone, using data from ESA’s CryoSat II satellite.

Prior to this I worked on the Multi-Sat project at Getech, Leeds , which used data from satellite altimeters to create an offshore satellite derived gravity map of the world.
