The University Research Committee is investing £100,000 between August 2013 to July 2014 to fund new and nascent collaborations between the University of Bristol and Kyoto University, to build upon the momentum gained over the last five years of institutional partnerships between the two universities. Funds are provided to help establish or develop sustainable research partnerships across all university faculties, and provide opportunities for postgraduates and researchers to develop their skills and international profile.
The money is to be allocated to successful bids to cover travel and subsistence costs incurred in the course of initiating or building upon international collaboration. Requests for other support including equipment will be considered on a case by case basis. Please contact us to discuss.
The Bristol Kyoto Strategic Fund award period runs from 1st August 2013 to 31st July 2014. All activities and spend must occur within this period.
We hope to make rapid decisions and so we will assess proposals, overseen by a steering group, on a rolling basis notifying you of the outcome no more than 6 weeks from receipt of the application.
Your completed proposal should be sent by email to Simon Glasser (s.glasser@bristol.ac.uk) when you are ready to submit it.
Please ensure that you read the supporting documentation before submitting your proposal.
