Staff Student Liaison Committee

Role of Committee

Each of the five constituent Departments of the School of Modern Languages will have an undergraduate Staff-Student Liaison Committee. The Undergraduate Programme Coordinator in each Department will take responsibility for ensuring that a Committee is formed and meets.

This committee consists of some members of staff and student representatives drawn from the different course combinations in Years 1, 2, and 4. It meets at least once per teaching block (usually on a Thursday lunchtime) and is an important forum for discussion of academic matters in the Department. All students are encouraged to raise any items of concern through their representatives. In the past, significant changes have taken place as a result of the work of this committee, so it performs a very valuable role in the running of the department.
