A participant may convene a panel of speakers, present a paper, or simply attend as a regular delegate. The fees for this are the same.
The deadline for panel proposals has now passed. If you wish to participate in a panel, please contact the panel convenor directly, by email, providing a brief abstract (around 250 words) and your name and contact details.
The deadline for registration is 28 February 2010.
You should wait for the panels are published on the website and see which panel would be most appropriate for your topic and apply to this. If we have several high quality papers that do not fit any of the proposed panels, then we will consider putting together a panel of miscellaneous papers.
Proposals and abstracts must be submitted in English. Papers can be given in Portuguese or Spanish, if specified in advance. However, it is the convenors' responsibility to give a summary of each paper at the end of each presentation, and to translate questions and answers into English. It cannot be assumed that all delegates are fluent and confident in other languages.
The organising committee will select according to clarity and quality, and also with reference to the overall balance of topics.

You do not need to be a member to attend the conference. However, non members have to pay a supplement of £25 and students £12, which is the same as SLAS membership costs.
All participants must pre-register for catering and room booking purposes.
Registration includes entrance to all panels and attendance at all conference activities. Friday includes a hot buffet, teas and coffees, and a wine reception. Saturday includes refreshments throughout the day, a buffet lunch, welcome reception and conference dinner. All participants will also receive a conference pack.
If for some reason you have to cancel your registration, please let us know as soon as possible. After the deadline for registration, we will not be able to reduce our catering costs. However, we will endeavour to refund 60% of the fee after this date, but we cannot guarantee this until we know if we have covered our costs i.e. after the conference is over. Refunds at this stage will only be made in exceptional circumstances.
