Accommodation

The IAS can offer comfortable and convenient accommodation in No 1 University Walk. The accommodation is located in the middle of the University precinct and a few minutes walk from Royal Fort House and most departmental buildings.

Please note that we are currently unable to provide accommodation for periods of less than one month.
We can furthermore not accept bookings for the months of August and September due to refurbishment work being planned for that period.
Accommodation is available for letting to Benjamin Meaker Visiting Professors (BMVPs) to the University, though requests from other academic visitors to the University may be considered.

Rental includes internet, heating, lighting, towels, linen and cleaning. The wired and wireless internet service is provided through the University's ResNet, and a username and password is required to access this. For medium-term IAS BMVPs, usernames and passwords are arranged through the IAS; for other visitors (including short term BMVPs), these must be arranged through their Bristol host department. There are no parking spaces attached to this accommodation.

• Ground Floor. Small hallway. Double bedroom with lounge and study areas, desk, LCD television, computer access and telephone points, fridge, separate bathroom (bath with shower over).
• Total floor area: 45m²

Suite 2

• Ground Floor. Entrance lobby. Double bedroom, separate lounge with computer access and telephone points, desk, LCD television, fridge, separate bathroom (bath with shower over). Sited opposite communal kitchen.
• Total floor area: 58.5m²
• £750 per month
• Maximum occupants: 2

Suite 3

• Ground Floor. Off rear communal sitting room. Small single bedroom, en-suite bathroom (with shower over bath) , separate study, with LCD television, desk, fridge, computer access and telephone points.
• Total floor area: 39.5m²
• £600 per month
• Maximum occupants: 1

Suite 4

• First floor. Hallway. Twin bedded room with lounge and study areas, LCD television, desk, fridge, computer access and telephone points, separate dressing room leading to bathroom (bath with shower over).
• Total floor area: 50.5m²

Suite 5

• First floor. Entrance lobby. Double bedroom with with desk, fridge, LCD television, computer access and telephone points, separate bathroom (bath with shower over).

• First floor. Self-contained unit with double bedroom, kitchen with lounge area (fitted with washer machine/dryer, fridge and cooker) dining table, LCD television, computer access and telephone points. Separate small study with desk, separate shower room and toilet (no bath).

• Maximum occupants: 2

Suite 8

• Second Floor. Self-contained unit with double bedroom, full bathroom (bath with shower over), open plan lounge/study/kitchen (fitted with washer machine/dryer, fridge and cooker) desk, dining table, LCD television, computer access and telephone points.
• Total floor area: 63m²
• £900 per month
• Maximum occupants: 2

On the first floor, directly outside entrances to suites 6 and 7, there is a bathroom with bath which is available for use by residents of suites 6 and 7 (as these units are only fitted with shower rooms).

On the ground floor, there is a communal kitchen (fitted with cooker, washing machine/dryer, fridge and freezer) for use by occupants of suites 1 – 6, and a communal sitting area for use by all residents.
