A long-standing puzzle in economics is why people sometimes act non-rationally. Many previous explanations show how non-rationality by a player in an individual game can be optimal for that player if considered in the context of an infinite sequence of identical, repeated instances of that game. In this talk I present a framework that instead explains non-rationality in single, non-repeated games.
