Working offsite
| Don't |
Do |
- Don't process restricted UOB data on a non-UOB computer.
- Do request to use a UOB-owned laptop or other hardware if necessary.
- Do read and understand the Office of the University Secretary's information on processing data off campus (use the link above).
- Don't set your browser to save passwords for you (especially UOB passwords).
- Do use private browsing mode and/or regularly erase your browsers history - especially if you're using a public computer.
- Don't needlessly transport UOB data from one site to another - and never transport restricted or personal data unless it's encrypted. View encryption advice.
- Don't copy data in bulk when you only need a bit of it.
- Do only copy the data that you need to do the job in hand.
- Don't use public computers to access any University services that require you to log on: public PCs in hotels, airports, Internet cafes and libraries are almost always infected with malware.
- Do be cautious about using anyone else's computer to access University services that require you to log in.
