Entry requirements for undergraduate courses

All applications must be made through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). The UCAS code name and number for this University is BRISL B78.

Applicants with the Bachillerato combined with a successfully completed appropriate foundation/bridging programme will be considered for admission to our Bachelor degree courses.

Applicants who have successfully completed the first year of a Costa Ricann University degree (Licenciado) will be considered for admission to the first year of our Bachelor degree courses.

Applicants with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or British A-Levels will be considered for admission to our Bachelor degree courses.

Please note that competition for places at Bristol is very strong, so the achievement of the qualifications listed above does not guarantee that an offer will be made. We aim to get you a response as quickly as possible to help you plan your studies.

Entry requirements for postgraduate programmes

You can apply online for all our postgraduate programmes.

The standard requirement for entry to a taught masters programme at Bristol is an undergraduate (Bachelor) degree that is equivalent to a UK Upper Second Class degree (also known as a 2:1).

Applicants who hold a Bachiller degree with good grades will be considered for admission to a Masters degree

Applicants who hold a Licenciatura with good grades or Maestría degree will be considered for admission to PhD study.

Scholarship information

University of Bristol Santander Abbey Scholarship Scheme

The University of Bristol is pleased to be offering ten Santander scholarships of £5,000 to undergraduate and postgraduate candidates from Latin America. Further information about the scheme is provided by the Student Funding Office.

Fundación Beca

Fundación Beca can assist Latin American postgraduate students with obtaining loans to study in any subject area (excluding postgraduate taught courses within Economics, Finance and Management). The University of Bristol offers Fundación Beca students a 10% discount on tuition fees.

Please note: this fee discount can only be applied to self-funded applicants. Students who have a scholarship or loan through another funding provider (eg Conacyt, Fiderh, Funed, Becas Chile, Colfuturo etc) are not eligible to receive the Fundación Beca fee discount.

An International Office Scholarship is available for new international students.
