EU qualifications tables

Our undergraduate prospectus provides information on the typical GCE Advanced Level (A Level) grade requirements for entry to courses at Bristol. This will be in the 'entry data' section for each course. The tables below provide an approximate [1] equivalent of the required grades (you may know these as your GPA / percentage / scores / marks / test results or assessments) for your country's school-leaving qualification. If you have achieved, or are likely to achieve these grades, you should consider applying to Bristol.

Note that some courses include specific subject requirements at A Level. In this case it is likely that you would need to study the same subject in the final year of school and achieve a top grade in that subject. For example, our engineering programmes require mathematics and physics at A Level from those students who are following the UK's examination system. Therefore you would need to study mathematics and physics at the highest level possible at school, and achieve very good grades as indicated in the table, in order to be considered for a place at Bristol.

Where we require a specific subject at A Level, we would normally require that subject to be offered as a State Matriculation exam subject. If you do not have the right subject as a Matriculation exam, we may still be able to consider you if your Matriculation exam subject is related to our required A level subject.

Estonian Gumnaasiumi Ioptunnistus and Riigiesksamitsunnistus

If you have achieved grades between 4.5 and 5 in all your school-leaving exams, and 85% or higher in most of your State exams and you have additional qualifications such as SATs with good grades (approximately 650 in each test) you should contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office to ask if you are eligible to apply. **Where specific subjects are required at A Level, Italian Diploma students will need to provide evidence of achieving high scores in those individual subjects. For an A* grade 10 is required. For an A grade 9, and for a B grade 8 is required.For Mathematics, 15/15 is required for A*, 14/15 for A, 13/15 for B grade at A Level.

Lithuanian Brandos Atestatos

If you have achieved grade 10 in all your school-leaving exams, or 9 or 10 in your exams and you have additional qualifications such as SATs with good grades (approximately 650 in each test) you should contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office to ask if you are eligible to apply. Please supply all the relevant information when you get in touch.

If you apply for Computer Science, or any of its joint honours programmes, at undergraduate level at Bristol, you will be considered for a place if you have achieved (or are predicted to achieve) a minimum of 9.0 overall with a minimum of 9.0 in Mathematics in the Lithuanian Diploma. Please note however that achieving these grades does not automatically guarantee an offer of a place.

Where a subject is required for UK A Level, you must study that subject at the highest level possible at school. For example, if you want to apply for economics at Bristol, you will need to do mathematics to level E as UK students are required to study Mathematics A Level.
