Entry requirements for undergraduate courses

All applications must be made through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). The UCAS code name and number for this University is BRISL B78.

Applicants with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or A-Levels will be considered for admission to our Bachelor degree programmes.

Applicants holding an Associate Degree, or the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) in Accounting, Biology, Chemistry, French, History, Literature in English, Mathematics, Physics, Spanish, or the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) in six CAPE units, including two single - unit courses, or holders of a Diploma from the University of Guyana or holders of a Technician Diploma with excellent grade profiles may be considered for suitable programmes at undergraduate level.

Applicants with very good grades in the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) in Applied Mathematics, Caribbean Studies, Communication Studies, Electrical and Electronic Technology, Functional French, Functional Spanish, Information Technology and Statistical Analysis may be considered for direct entry to a suitable undergraduate programme but may be required to complete an approved foundation programme first.

Please note that competition for places at Bristol is very strong, so the achievement of the qualifications listed above does not guarantee that an offer will be made. We aim to get you a response as quickly as possible to help you plan your studies.

Entry requirements for postgraduate programmes

You can apply online for all our postgraduate programmes.

The standard requirement for entry to a taught masters programme at Bristol is an undergraduate (Bachelor) degree that is equivalent to a UK Upper Second Class degree (also known as a 2:1).

Applicants holding Masters Degree with good grades will be considered for suitable postgraduate programmes.
