Statistics 2010/2011

This was the third year of the Student Laptop Clinic and customer numbers rose again to 1300 across the year, helped in part by the clinics continuing throughout the summer vacation for the first time. About 200 people were seen by our student member of staff over 9 weeks, based in the Computer Centre. The success of this means that we will repeat it again in 2012 at the same location.

Over the year less than 30% of computers that we saw were beyond our ability to repair, being mostly hardware failures and we are unable to fix hardware faults. That gives us a 70% fix rate, something that our staff are rightly proud of.

Here are quotes from a couple of emails that we received from people who had visited the clinic:

"I went to the laptop clinic today and that the guy on duty was really helpful and professional, the clinic was a very useful service."

"I would just like to say thank you for the excellent expert and friendly service I received at the clinic the other day. I was given a great deal of help with my laptop and some very good advice. I now have a good deal of confidence which comes from my knowing that my data is much less likely to be compromised."

Below is a graph showing the number of people that we have helped over the 42 weeks that the clinics have been running over the academic year.
