All University Google services (Email, Calendar and Drive) can be configured with the guide we've provided here. If you get stuck, please have a look at our troubleshooting section.

It is also possible to set up Gmail in a third party application. However, we cant support the wide range of third party email clients available. For instructions on how to do this, please see the relevant Google help pages.

On your computer

1. Set your Google password using our password change form.

On your device

2. Open Settings from your application list
3. Select Add account

4. For the type of account, select Google

5. If it asks you if this is a New or Existing account, select Existing

6. Open the application and sign in with your Google username and Google password. This should look like:...
• Staff: ab12345@bristol.ac.uk
• Student: ab12345@my.bristol.ac.uk

7. Follow the rest of the wizard. The following options are up to you (For example backing up your phone)
8. Your Google account is now set up to work with all the Google Applications on your mobile device.
