The Staff Mobile Device Clinic is a new support service provided by IT Services for University staff. It aims to provide both assistance configuring mobile devices and information/advice on Mobile devices such as Mobile phones and Tablets.
The clinics are now running on an "appointment system" between 14:30 and 16:00 each workday (Please note: Currently there are only 2 members in the Mobile Technology Team so some days may not be available). To book an appointment, send an email to mobile-help@bristol.ac.uk. Please include the following information in your email:

The clinic appointments are held in the Computer Centre and very depend on room availability, Please arrive at the IT Service Desk and mention you are waiting for the clinic. If you do not know where the Computer Centre is is then please look at the University Precinct Map.
We can help you get your mobile device onto core University services such as Wireless, Email and Calendar.
Due to the rapid developments in mobile IT some services may not be supported on your device. If we cannot assist you with connecting your device to our services, we can provide:
We also provide information, and some limited training, on how to use your device and some recommended applications.
We do not repair mobile devices (Physical defects or damage). However, if you do have a hardware issue we can advise you on what to do next.
Once you have booked an appointment (as above) please visit the IT Service desk (preferably 5 minutes before your appointment) and mention that you are here for the Staff Mobile Device Clinic. You will be greeted by either a Member of the technology team or a zonal member of staff and taken to either a "Breakout Room" or one of the meeting rooms in the computer centre where it will be possible to discuss any problems you are having with your device, and help you connect to University services. There may be two members of IT Services staff present, To aid in staff training.
All members of staff with University purchased or personally owned devices can visit the Staff Mobile Device Clinic. At this time there is no provision for students or visitors to the University.
You only need to bring your Device and Charger. However, you may also need to know the following:
AskIT is a great resource to find other people who may have had similar problems with their mobile devices or report new issues. All staff and students can answer or ask questions and users of AskIT are encouraged to help each other. The service is also monitored by the Mobile IT team who help with any problems posted by the community.
