Information for visitors who require computing facilities

Wireless Internet access

eduroam logo

The university is a member of the eduroam federation. Visitors from any organisation within the federation can access eduroam wireless at Bristol using their regular username and password from their home organisation. Bristol staff and students can get access at other organisations in the same way.

Not everyone visiting Bristol is from an eduroam organisation, so we also provide wireless visitor accounts for different groups of visitors.

Internet access for residential visitors in halls

VisitorNet in Halls will be available from June until September. Anyone renting residential accommodation in halls this summer can access VisitorNet using the data socket in their room. There is a charge to access the service, made online by credit or debit card. At other times of year, please contact the IT Service Desk.

Access to PC rooms and computers in the UOB domain

University computers are available to guests of the university for short periods - people who have been invited to visit the university for research, teaching, or other business. Please see the policy on visitors and IT access. Please contact the IT Service Desk for further support.
