Content of screens

Each screen is made up of layouts. On each layout are zones.  You can have just one zone or many.  In the zones you will find the content e.g. images, text, tables.  A combination of layouts is called a schedule.  During the schedule the layouts play in order so different content is seen on the screens.

Submitting content

We are always pleased to add attractive layouts highlighting important or interesting information relevant to students and staff.   All submissions should be produced and sent as an image (e.g. jpeg) and sized landscape 1360 x 768 pxl.

How the system works

All layouts and schedules are managed by a central box based in the Computer Centre and edited via the web by the IT Communications Manager.  Different schedules are published on different channels.  So on Channel 1 we have the schedule for the Arts and Social Sciences library, Channel 2 - Medical Library, Channel 3  - small screen in Medical Library and on Channel 4 the Computer Centre.  Boxes attached to each screen collect the information from the designated channel and show any updated content.

The system used has been developed by Onelan.
