[09 March 2017]Microsoft Office on staff and postgraduate computers will be upgraded to the latest version, Office 2016, during the Easter 2017 vacation.
This is a minor change, with Office 2016 being very similar to Office 2013. The upgrade is the first product of the Digital Workspace Programme and will allow us to start making a series of improvements to how we communicate and collaborate at the University.
From 30th March, staff and postgraduates will be able to upgrade their Windows PCs to Office 2016 using the Software Center (the University's app store).
Office 2016 for Apple computers will be made available at the same time via the University’s Mac Software Centre.
We recommend that you choose a convenient time to upgrade Office. The process is straightforward and typically takes 10-20 minutes.
If you do not install Office 2016 yourself this will be done automatically from 10th April on staff and PGR University managed Windows computers. You will be able to use your computer as normal while this happens.
Computers in lecture theatres, study spaces, and teaching spaces will be upgraded at the start of the summer vacation.
