Summary

Dr Simon Price is the Academic Research IT Manager for the University of Bristol and a Visiting Fellow in Machine Learning in the Department of Computer Science. He leads the Advanced Computing Research Centre's research IT service, working closely with the Research Data Service (data.bris) and Research & Enterprise Development to enable world-class strategic and operational support for advanced research computing and data science across the organisation.

He chairs the DataSHIELD Advisory Board for secure bioscience collaboration, represent the university's data science interests at the Worldwide Universities Network and, outside of the University, organises the 900+ strong South West Data Meetup and Open Data Institute (ODI) Bristol network.

Activities / Findings

Our invited article is the cover feature of the March 2017 issue of Communications of the ACM, the flagship publication of the ACM, with printed circulation to 100,000+ computing researchers and practitioners worldwide. The article pdf has already been downloaded over 4,000 times.
