MA in 20th Century Italian Culture - Voices of Conformity and Dissent

Introduction:

    The MA is designed to give students the opportunity to extend and develop their knowledge of twentieth-century Italian culture through the exploration of the major debates and issues that have defined it. The programme looks at the way culture has been thought about in Italy and uses the ideas of different theorists to discuss the work of writers and film-makers over the century. It examines the ideologies of different groups within Italian society and their impact on artistic practice. The programme comprises four separate units each examining in detail specific moments in the history of Italian culture this century.
