Ruth Annand is Emeritus Professor of Law at the University of Bristol and Consultant in Intellectual Property with Taylor Wessing, Solicitors, London. From 1999-2002 she served as a member of the Board of Directors of the International Trademark Association, New York, USA (INTA) and is presently Vice Chair of the INTA International Amicus Committee. Her books include Blackstone's Guide to the Trade Marks Act 1994
and Blackstone's Guide to the Community Trade Mark
. She is a contributor on Seniority to INTA's publication The Community Trade Mark
and Principal Editor for INTA's e-publication Practitioner's Guide to The Madrid Agreement and Madrid Protocol
. Professor Annand is one of the Lord Chancellor's Appointed Persons authorised to hear appeals in trade mark matters. She is the Director of the University of Bristol School of Law's prestigious Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice.
