As part of the Distinguished Alumni Guest Lecture Series, Nichola Warrender (LLB 1994) barrister Quadrant Chambers will be giving a lecture entitled: "Proof of foreign law in commercial litigation/arbitration"
Nichola Warrender is a barrister at the commercial bar practising from Quadrant Chambers in London.
Nichola studied at the University of Bristol from 1990-1994 and attained a first-class degree in European and Legal Studies (Euro) LLB.
She was called to the Bar of England and Wales at Inner Temple in 1995.
Immediately following pupillage she took tenancy at the common law set New Court Chambers where she remained until moving to the specialist commercial and admiralty set at 4 Essex Court (now Quadrant Chambers) in 2000.
In 2007 she was called to the New York Bar and returned to practice in London in 2009.Nichola is an experienced junior Counsel with a broad commercial litigation and arbitration practice with particular emphasis on shipping, carriage of goods, commodities, shipbuilding, energy and construction and related insurance and finance disputes.
Many of her cases involve issues of jurisdiction, private international law or require careful analysis of complex factual, expert and technical or legal issues. She has been involved in public inquiries and appeared as an advocate both lower and appellate Courts as well as before various institutional and ad hoc domestic and international arbitration tribunals.
