Professor Sir Malcolm Evans attends meeting in Vienna as Expert Advisor to the UN Global Study on Children in Detention

Professor Sir Malcolm Evans attends meeting in Vienna, 10 to 11 April 2018, as Expert Advisor to the UN Global Study on Children in Detention.

The aim of this meeting, organised by the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights in Vienna, is to discuss and agree on how to carry out the UN Global Study on Children deprived of liberty. 

The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights will provide input from its opinions and research, such as its reports on child-friendly justice, independent living, children with disabilities and immigration detention of children, as well as the outcomes of the 11th European Forum on the Rights of the Child, that was devoted to investigating the vulnerabilities of children affected by deprivation of liberty and alternatives to detention.
