Press release issued: 20 June 2019

Nominees, winners and supporters of the Awards gathered in the Great Hall of the Wills Memorial Building at the 2019 Bristol Teaching Awards last week on 12 June, to celebrate colleagues' outstanding contributions to teaching, student support and enhancement of the student learning experience.

The Bristol Teaching Awards, now in its seventh year, is a joint venture between the University and Bristol SU and continues to be an initiative promoting pride, enthusiasm and inspiration for further achievements and innovation in education at Bristol.

The event saw several awards for members of the Law School:

Imogen Moore, Senior Teaching Fellow in Law, won the University Awards for Education (Faculty of Social Sciences and Law).

Dr Peter Dunne, Lecturer in Law, won the Students’ Award for Outstanding Support.

The University Award for Enhancing the Student Learning Experience was won by the Faculty Employability Team (Careers Service: Education Services), which included the Law School’s Employability Advisor Jo Cooksley, together with Holly Delafield, Bryony Enright, Tim Ellis, Ellen Grace, Gareth Hughes, Natalia Mudd, Dr Hannah Pearce and Eilidh Sligo.

"I was absolutely delighted to be awarded the University Award for Education for the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law. In fact I've hardly stopped smiling since the Teaching Awards evening! It is a huge honour personally, but I hope it also reflects the importance we place on education here in the Law School and the continual efforts we make to refine, develop and improve what we do to ensure our students receive an excellent education in an inclusive and supportive environment. I am fortunate to be surrounded by students and colleagues who continually inspire, challenge, support and motivate me, and this award is therefore very much thanks to them." - Imogen Moore

“It was a really lovely surprise to be nominated for, and to win, this award. The fact that it is decided by the students is particularly nice. It's a huge privilege to work with so many colleagues in the law school for whom student wellbeing is their primary concern and who go above and beyond to support our students during their studies.” - Dr Peter Dunne
