Summary

Konstantinos is a PhD Candidate and Teaching Assistant at the University of Bristol. His research is funded by the Law School GTA PGR Scholarship. He holds a Degree in Law (LLB) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, a Master of Laws (LLM) in European and Comparative Law from the Catholic University of Portugal, where he was a Millennium BCP Scholar, as well as an MSc in European and Comparative Social Policy from the London School of Economics. Konstantinos is qualified as attorney-at-law in Greece, being a member of the Athens Bar. In the past, he worked as a legal intern at Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, an International Financial Institution, and at the Institute of Economic Policy and Public Governance of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce.

Konstantinos's research interests span different disciplines, lying mainly in the field of socio-legal studies in general. More specifically, he is intrigued by the interplay between law and social policy, and how law and judicial decision-making might affect welfare. His PhD thesis elaborates on that, by examining the ways in which the Court of Justice of the European Union has been shaping European social policy, post-Laval Quartet, post-Lisbon and in the course of the crisis. In addition to the above, he is also keen on further exploring issues of EU law, social policy and labour law, theories of constitutionalism, federalism and judicial-decision making.
