Biography

I am a legal academic and non-practising Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. My interdisciplinary research interests and experiences are broadly informed by, and in dialogue with, feminist philosophies and critical race theories. My doctoral research at The University of Sheffield empirically explored epistemologies of ignorance and made empirical and theoretical contributions to our understanding of hermeneutical injustices through the lived experiences of black women. Prior to my PhD I worked for 5 years in the non-profit sector, in socio-legal research and advocacy capacities, within humanitarian, Indigenous Rights, and environmental justice contexts.
