About the staff

The Centre is based in the School of Law. Staff within the Centre include leaders in the international human rights law field. They have produced major academic monographs and edited collections with leading publishers as well as across a broad number of legal journals in the field.  Moreover, they work closely with, have  acted – and continue to act - as advisors to a broad range of key institutional actors at all levels: NGOs (including Interights, the Association for the Prevention of Torture, Amnesty International and others), international institutions (e.g. Council of Europe, European Union, UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, OSCE, UN Sub Committee for the Prevention of Torture, UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture, African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, and others) Governments as well as working in collaboration with other human rights organisations. We are also approached for advice at the national level in the UK and from many countries overseas to comment on draft legislation and other issues.

We have acquired considerable experience on the issues that form the focus of the Centre and are very happy to be approached for advice, consultation and expertise as well as open to collaborative work, so please write to us via our contact page.
