The Law School is home to a portfolio of research centres. These formalise the research and reputational strengths of the School, attract high-calibre staff and students - and provide a community of scholarship that extends way beyond the walls of the university.

Projects
Law School staff are very successful at winning grants and our portfolio of externally funded research now covers a wide range of legal and socio-legal themes. Our grant income has more than doubled over the past five years and staff are engaged in cutting edge, original research projects, that are making a significant impact on lives around the world.

Our online research information system provides a listing of the latest journal papers, conference materials, theses and other research produced by academics at the Law School.

Research Paper Series
The Research Paper Series publishes a broad range of legal scholarship in all subject areas from members of the University of Bristol Law School. All papers are published electronically, available for free, for download as pdf files.

Our vision is to further internationalise our research, building on our position as a top three UK university for excellence in legal research (REF 2021).

Led by Professor Alan Bogg, our Research Management Team is responsible for providing sustainable assistance for researchers at all levels and for maintaining the ethical integrity of our research.
