Electronic resource trials

In liaison with publishers and service providers the Library will occasionally arrange trial access to allow us to use and evaluate a new electronic resource. Trial access for new resources will be for a temporary period of time, often one month.

You will find details and links for all current trials in our resource gateway MetaLib:

• 'Material type - Resource trials' in MetaLib (cross-search list)
  This link takes you to the current list of trial resources with a cross-search option ('Material type - Resource trials' can also be accessed via the 'Databases by category' option of Quick search > Articles & databases on the Library home page). For details of a particular resource click on the Info icon next to the resource name. Note that there are times when we have no current trials when this category may be empty.
  Alternatively, Resource trials in MetaLib (list with brief details) lists the same resources, but with with brief details displayed against each. Click on the Info icon to display the full details.
  
  
• Using the 'Databases by category' option of Quick search > Articles & databases on the Library home page you can easily access a subject list of resources on MetaLib to see those trials that are relevant to a particular subject area (the same thing can be done, in a more time consuming way, from within the Cross-search option of MetaLib). Current trials are denoted in MetaLib with our resource trial icon .
