Reading Lists: information for students

Online reading lists make it simple for you to find books and access online resources recommended for study by your tutors.

Accessing a reading list

  • If your course unit has an online reading list, you will normally find a link to it – as shown above – in the Blackboard area for the unit.  Sometimes there will be a separate link for each set of weekly readings.
  • If you are unable to access a list through Blackboard, you can also find it via the reading lists homepage.  Search for the list by the unit name or code (e.g. ENGL10042).

If you receive an error message when clicking on a Reading List link in Blackboard:

  • Try clearing your browser cache. Step-by-step instructions for performing this action on different browsers can be found here.
  • If you have ad-blocking software enabled on your laptop, or are using a virtual private network (VPN), your use of Blackboard may be affected. Try switching them off temporarily, or using a different browser.
  • You can also find your reading list via the Reading Lists homepage. Search for the list by the unit name or code (e.g. ENGL10042).

If none of these options work, please contact your subject librarian for further advice.
