Most loan items can be renewed using the 'My Library Account' option on the Library Catalogue. 'My Library Account' is also available as an option within the Library tab of MyBristol. You will need your University of Bristol username and password to access either of these.
Once you have accessed 'My Library Account', select 'Loans' and then choose the item you wish to renew by clicking on the number next to it. A renew option is available from the 'Loan Details' screen that displays. If you wish to renew everything that you currently have on loan, choose ‘Renew all’ from the ‘Loans’ page.
You can also renew loan items by taking them, together with your UCard, to the Issue Desk of the library from which they were borrowed.
Special telephone renewal arrangements apply to part-time, distance & placement students and disabled students. Part-time, distance and placement students who are unable to renew items online should contact the AddLibS service.
Please note: You may need to return very overdue items and pay outstanding library charges before renewing your loan items. You may continue to renew individual loan items as long as they are not requested by another user.
Reminders (courtesy notices) are usually sent to library users approximately nine days before the due date, for standard loans only. Please note, however, that these notices will not be produced at times when the library computer system is unavailable; therefore, it is your responsibility to monitor your loans using the ‘My Library Account’ option on the Library Catalogue.
