The University's Transport Plan, adopted in 1999, is a University-wide initiative that focuses on staff travel. The Plan aims to promote the use of alternative modes of transport to the car as well as managing car parking around the University. The Travel to Work Implementation Group (TWIG) is responsible for overseeing its implementation. This group has representation from across the University and is chaired by Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor David Clarke.
More recently the Plan has broadened its scope to include student travel.
