| Areas of expertise | My main area of expertise is French literature of the Belle Epoque (1880-1914). My research focuses on literature in its cultural and historical context and its relationship to other cultural expressions, in particular journalism. Writer-journalists and the history of journalism in France are other major interests. In addition I have done extensive work on the French avant-garde, in particular the author Alfred Jarry. |
