I am the section co-editor of Science Education, and I serve on the editorial boards of International Journal of Science Education, Journal of Science Teacher Education, and Review of Educational Research among other journals. I was the History, Philosophy and Sociology of Science Strand Coordinator at NARST and I currently serve on the International Committee of the same organisation.
I am on the Advisory Board of Routledge "New Perspectives on Learning and Instruction" Book Series, and the Scientific Advisory Board of European Science Education Research Association and Congreso Internacional sobre Investigación en Didáctica de las Ciencias among other organisations.

Biography
I received degrees in biochemistry/chemistry, food chemistry and science education/philosophy. I have been an educational researcher at University of Pittsburgh and King's College, University of London, and taught high school chemistry and middle school science in a secondary school in northern Cyprus. I have authored close to 120 publications and made over 100 international/national presentations including plenary speeches at conferences in Taiwan, South Africa and Lebanon. I have delivered invited seminars in Norway, Sweden, Turkey, Kenya, USA, Israel, and Spain among other countries.
