| Areas of expertise |
The main area of my research is mathematical biology and epidemiology. I am particularly interested in various aspects of population dynamics, species interactions, speciation, and finally, spread of infectious diseases. My work in this latter area encompasses both population-wide epidemics, and within-human host-parasite interactions.
Besides problems of mathematical biology, I am also quite interested in understanding physical properties of materials as they change between crystalline and amorphous states. Such materials find their everyday aplications in data storage media, such as CD and DVD, and if we understand them better, we can significantly improve the existing technology.
