My research interests rest on the interactions between an individual and their experiences of hearing difficulties. I am particularly interested in hearing difficulties that are not medically explained e.g. King-Kopetzky Syndrome (KKS) or Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) and have contributed to work in this field by identifying how people with KKS cope and how the role of emotional responses in moderating their hearing difficulty.
I am currently investigating help-seeking amongst this group using the illness perceptions questionnaire. I am also looking to investigate the clinical experience of working with this group from the point of view of audiology professionals.
In addition, I have an interest in the experience that clinicians have of implementing the MHAS procedures and the extent to which these procedures address the reported needs of patients presenting for help with hearing loss.
