Research Interests
Developing evidence-based and policy-relevant models of how complex factors such as parental education, teen parenthood, poverty, have their impact on child development
Biography
I research and teach how different factors come together to bring about happier or unhappier development for children.
Much of my current research is with the Children of the Nineties study (ALSPAC).
I have been looking at the antecedents and the consequences of teenage pregnancy to see how much the worse outcomes for very young mothers and their children have to be linked to difficulties well before the pregnancy.
I will be taking a similar approach to the effects of maternal depression.
Research Projects
Antecedents and consequences of teenage pregnancy Education, employment and childcare issues for teenage mothers Effects of maternal depression on child development
