| Areas of expertise | My main focus of research is the analysis of the social and political origins of the Spanish Civil War. I have written extensively on the transition from elite to mass politics, the post First World War crisis of the Liberal Monarchy, popular protest, labour movement and praetorian intervention in political society. My teaching areas are; modern Spanish history and politics; the origins, course and legacy of the Spanish Civil War; Left-wing social and political mobilization; state identity and peripheral nationalisms. |
