I have been involved in a series of projects in Health Communication and Health Services research including genetic counselling for predictive testing, vulnerable young people's access to health and welfare services, supported employment for young people with learning disabilities, and paediatric diabetes-care. I have previously worked at the Health Communication Research Centre, the Welsh Centre for Learning Disabilities and the Department of General Practice at Cardiff University, the School of Languages and Social Sciences at Wolverhampton University and the Thomas Coram Research Unit at the Institute of Education. My work has been mainly qualitative in nature, with an emphasis on the discursive and thematic analysis of interview data and the micro-analysis (conversation analysis, pragmatics) of audio-recorded interactions.
I am currently working on the qualitative interview data from the DiAMOND trial and producing materials for a module on "Making decisions about birth after previous Caesarean" for the DIPEx Patient Experiences website.
