| Areas of expertise |
My expertise focuses on the participation of civil society and interest groups in European Union politics to explain how democratic, transparent and legitimate the EU really is.
I am particularly interested in the impact of the EU’s enlargement to Central and Eastern Europe on the civil society of the new member states and future candidate countries.
I am currently working on the regulation of lobbying in the European Union and several European countries including the UK to better understand how lobbyists influence politics, how representative they are and how independent decision-makers really are.
I am currently editing a book on energy and climate change in Europe. I have experience training civil servants on EU affairs and providing expert advice to government departments and other public and private organizations.
