My research focuses on the relation between language use and language attitudes, i.e. the difference between what people think they say and what they actually say. The aspect of linguistics surfaces in many areas of the subject, such as dialectology, sociolinguistics, historical linguistics and folk linguistics. I published on linguistic norms and am interested in how language changes are conditioned by external interventions
