I trained in Physiology at Liverpool University, graduating in 2000. Following graduation I accepted a post within the Bristol Heart Institute, studying the role of B-catenin signalling in smooth muscle cell proliferation. In 2005 I began an MRC funded PhD in the Academic Renal Unit, working with Dr. Simon Satchell. The main focus of this project is the development of an in vitro model of the glomerulus, using conditionally immortalised human podocyte and glomerular endothelial cell lines.
