| Areas of expertise |
My initial work consisted of analysing the way ethical and other philosophical questions raised by human enhancement are addressed in science fiction, mainly in literature.
From there, I have developed an expertise in three directions: 1. Other philosophical questions dealt with in science fiction: aliens, simulations like The Matrix, animals, cyborgs, Japanese manga, artificial intelligence, robots, etc. 2. The relationship between fiction and philosophy in general, in cinema and series more specifically. 3. The philosophical debate on human enhancement, posthumanism, transhumanism, etc, in France and in the UK.
More generally, my goal is to develop a philosophical practice more faithful to its Socratic origins: more dialogical, more collaborative, more creative, more in tune with contemporary issues, more accessible, more playful.
