| Areas of expertise |
My current research interests relate to improving the on-farm welfare of layer hens by increasing range use and reducing injurious pecking. I retain a strong interest in more fundamental aspects of animal behaviour such as the methodology used to measure the strength of motivation and preferences of animals, and their sensory and cognitive capabilities. I am also interested in the ethics of animal use.
