Currently Director of the University's Norah Fry Research Centre which focuses on issues affecting the lives of people with learning disabilities. Twenty years experience in research with people with learning disabilities in Australia and in Europe. International scholar. Most recent books include 'Deinstitutionalisation and People with Intellectual Disabilities' (edited with Rannveig Traustadottir London: Jessica Kingsley, 2005). 'Inclusive Research with People with Intellectual Disabilities, Past Present and Futures' (co- written with Jan Walmsley : London: Jesscia Kingsley 2003). 'Women with Intellectual Disabilities Finding a Place in the World London': Jessica Kingsley 2000).
