| Areas of expertise |
Broad ranging expertise in the determination of reaction mechanisms in organic and inorganic chemistry using physical and chemical techniques (nuclear magnetic resonance, isotopic labelling, reaction kinetics).
Broad ranging expertise in stable isotopic labelling (2H, 13C, 15N, 18O, 34S, 108Pd etc.)
Specific areas of interest include reactions catalysed by transition metals (especially Tungsten, Palladium, Copper, Zinc, Rhodium, Ruthenium, Molbydenum) and reactions mediated by organometallic species (Boron, Indium, Gallium).
Also have interest and activity in asymmetric (enantioselective) methodology for the preparation of chiral molecules enriched in one 'hand' and also in the design and synthesis of ligands (phosphine and nitrogen based) for asymmetric processes.
Consultant for process research and development groups in pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries in UK, Sweden, Netherlands, USA.
