The stereocontrolled synthesis of functionalised N- and O-containing heterocycles is a central theme which has involved development of a wide range of novel synthetic methodologies and mechanistic studies, as well as asymmetric and total synthesis. Active industrial and academic collaborations relate to the chemistry of neurotoxins, including nicotinic agonists, and carbohydrates (C-linked glycosides and oligosaccharides).
