| Areas of expertise |
I have a longstanding interest in suicide epidemiology and prevention and am part of the National Suicide Prevention Advisory Group.
Interest in lifecourse influences on adult health, in particular schizophrenia, cancer and coronary heart disease risk and particularly the use of anthropometric markers (birthweight / height / leg length) of childhood growth and development in investigations of adult chronic diseases.
More recently investigating biological mechanisms, particularly insulin-like growth factors (IGFs), that may mediate associations of childhood exposures with adult chronic disease.
